Yes, it is a day trip you can do in your own rental car: about 128 km, around 1h 28m by car, with one toll plaza (Pisté) that costs $143 MXN for a car according to the official SICT route planner. Toll rates can change, so check them before you leave. Your rental includes unlimited mileage in Yucatán, Quintana Roo and San Francisco de Campeche, so the day trip adds no per-kilometer charge.
